Not for Wimps

Dating is not easy.  It’s a lot of work.  And it’s emotionally exhausting.  Even confident people take a beating when you go on dates that aren’t quite what you expect.  There’s so much build up of nerves and anxiety before that first meeting, the first date.  Everything happens in a blur and then afterward you try to remember every detail.  If it goes well, you feel like you just won the lottery.  If it goes poorly or not as expected, you wonder what happened.  Was it me? Was it him? Was it the food? Was it the *whatever*?

So what comes next?  Another date? Another singles site? Hanging out in the produce section at your supermarket?  What makes it so difficult to find a partner?  Is it our self-imposed obstacles?  Is it the economic and political climate that makes everyone so nervous that they can’t carry on a stress-free conversation?

Honestly, I can’t tell you.  I don’t know.  I’m stuck on this roller coaster, too.  If I figure anything out, though, I’ll be sure to pass it on.  All I can say is that you can’t give up.  You have to keep looking, keep fighting for what you want.  Don’t settle for right now.  Keep searching for your Happily Ever After.
